
Inspired by the impact of budgeting in his own life, Doug began sharing the teachings of Ron Blue and Larry Burkett nearly 40 years ago. He believes in the power of cash flow management built on emotional contentment to help people experience peace in their family finances.
Both Pacific Northwest natives, Doug and his wife Lu have two grown children and and five grandchildren. They invest a lot of time in their grandchildren whose help they often employ to pick blueberries in their backyard garden.
Doug founded Collier, Heggerness, and Bronk CPA's in his home office in 1983 and built the company through specialization in personal finance, small businesses, churches, and nonprofits. Over the past 35 years, Doug has participated in several successful business startups, coached entrepreneurs, consulted dozens of churches, and taught personal finance to thousands of individuals. Doug became a financial advisor in 2000 and recently retired from most of his CPA work to focus on helping individuals and families plan and pursue their financial goals.
Doug and his son Josh traveled together to Liberia in 1997 and since then Doug has been on over 25 mission trips with Serve The Children to Liberia, India, and Zambia. He volunteers teaching children Tae Kwon Do, serving in his local church, and coaching couples in budgeting and debt management.
He is registered to sell Securities through LPL Financial in the following state(s): AZ, CA, GA, ID, NM, OR, TX and WA. He is also licensed to sell insurance, annuities and long-term care in Washington.
